The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal seeks a reporter to cover the business of health care, nonprofits, advertising/PR/marketing and
small business in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market.
The ideal candidate is passionate about and effective at getting the big scoop, writing compelling stories for time-starved readers, thinking critically, building productive source networks and finding great stories in public records.
Candidates should have a track record of excelling as a business reporter, or at least effectively building source networks, making the
stories.
A minimum of 3 years professional journalism experience preferred.

A B.A. or equivalent work experience is required.

Internship opportunity at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal
Term: Fall internship runs from about Labor Day to Dec. 31
Hours: 20 hours a week. Schedule is flexible.
Wage: $10/hour
Job description: The editorial internship offers experience in newspaper writing and reporting, with a focus on business journalism. Writing opportunities include short feature articles, in-depth trend stories, daily Web stories and breaking news pieces. A core responsibility involves compiling news briefs from press releases. Interns will also have the opportunity to shadow reporters. Training and supervision will be provided.
Job requirements: Intern candidates should have completed some journalism courses and have published clips. The successful applicant is a hardworking, conscientious individual who pays attention to details and deadlines. Internships are offered to college students and recent graduates.
The Business Journal is a weekly business newspaper in downtown Minneapolis with a readership of 57,000. It is part of American City Business Journals, which owns 41 business journals throughout the U.S. The paper's Web address is twincities.bizjournals.com.
